  • >Employee Spotlight: Brandon Bennett

Take a few minutes to get to know Brandon Bennett. Brandon works in our Receiving Department as an inbound lead in our Knoxville fulfillment warehouse. He has been with Red Stag Fulfillment since 2015.

So before you started working at RSF, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

When I was in high school, I delivered meals to the elderly as a summer job. It was a great job because they always had great stories to share with me when I’d bring their meals to them.

How has RSF helped you develop your career?

When I started with Red Stag, I started as a picker/packer, which is the bottom of the totem pole. Currently, I’m the inbound lead. This means I supervise and coordinate inbound processors, putaway personnel, and I maintain the daily delivery schedule.

Tell us a little bit about your history of that with the company?

I started with RSF in March of 2015, and I was hired as a picker/packer. I worked in that position for approximately six to eight months. After that, I went to the inventory team for a short while, while also helping in the inbound department.

After that, I did a side project within the company that lasted for about a year, and then I went back to inbound. After about six months of being back in the inbound department, I became the inbound lead.

If you could switch your job with anyone else, whose job would you switch with?

This position has been great for me and my family. So, I actually wouldn’t want to switch with anyone. I love my job.

What do you like most about working at RSF?

I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s very much a family environment. The culture that has been built here is very much like a family. Everyone from the owners to the president of the company puts an emphasis on creating a family-like environment.

It’s nothing for either of them to ask me how my family is doing. They know my kids’ names. They care about more than what you are doing at work. They care about your life outside of work as well.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

The company has grown rapidly over the last several years, and we are currently expanding our warehouse. I see myself growing here at Red Stag and possibly going into management.

If they were to make a movie about your life, who would play you?

Denzel Washington.

If you could hang out with one person or have dinner with one person dead or alive? Who would it be?

LeBron James. I’m a big fan of his. Not just because of his athletics, but he does a lot within his community. I think he’d be a fascinating guy to hang out with.

If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you bring with you?

My family, my phone, and food.

If you were an animal, what would you be?

A lion. I feel like I have the passion of a lion. I have that kind of spirit. I’m pretty competitive. Lions are the king of the jungle, and I feel like that sometimes.

What is your favorite sport?

My favorite sport is football. I’m a huge University of Tennessee and Atlanta Falcons fan.

If you could be famous for anything, what would you be famous for?

Coaching a sport, probably football.

Are you from Knoxville?

I am from Cleveland, Tennessee, which is just outside of Chattanooga.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Play an instrument or maybe even singing.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

I’m always doing some kind of sporty things with my kids. Spending time with them is definitely my favorite thing to do.
