Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s annual award recognizes outstanding executives throughout the supply chain industry.

Jeanie Kohl named one of 2021's Women In Supply Chain

Knoxville, TN — Sept. 17, 2021 — Supply & Demand Chain Executive has announced the winners of its 2021 Women in Supply Chain award — and we are delighted that Red Stag Fulfillment’s Director of Human Resources, Jeanie Kohl, was among this year’s winners.

The Women in Supply Chain award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship, and examples provide a foundation for women at all levels in the supply chain field. This year’s list includes women with leadership roles at software firms, service providers, consultancies and academia, trucking and transportation firms, professional development agencies, sourcing and procurement divisions, and more. All of them have helped supply chain clients and the supply chain community prepare to meet many of today’s — and tomorrow’s — challenges.

And Jeanie Kohl is ideal to represent Red Stag Fulfillment in this space. Kohl, a veteran human resources leader, joined The Herd on Cyber Monday 2019 — the biggest day in the eCommerce fulfillment industry — and she dove right in. She not only built the entire HR department from the ground up but she also kept the warehouses staffed while maintaining a less than 5% employee turnover rate throughout the entirety of 2020.

Not only was Kohl faced with recruiting and maintaining staff in the midst of a global pandemic — she also led leadership development and training efforts, and her team created value recognition programs to boost morale and maintain a strong company culture throughout the tumult.

“As a leader, one of my primary goals is to help people see and believe in their own potential and unlock capabilities they didn’t know they have. I was able to witness some of our employees push themselves and realize their potential in the midst of this challenging 1.5 years which is something that motivates me every day,” says Kohl.

The last year and a half have certainly been filled with new challenges, for our industry and the global supply chain at large. Kohl takes these challenges in stride.

“We were so lucky to have Jeanie on board when the pandemic hit,” says Jake Rheude, Red Stag’s VP of Marketing. “She has been instrumental in keeping our business going and our employees safe and healthy for the past year and a half.”

An integral part of Red Stag’s Herd, Kohl’s HR team is vital to keeping our Knoxville, Salt Lake City, and upcoming Sweetwater, Tenn., warehouses connected and motivated. And we’re all thrilled that her hard work has been recognized in this award.

“It’s encouraging and inspiring to see Jeanie recognized as a woman in supply chain. It encourages me in my career to see the impact she has made in this industry and inspires me to reach for a similar accolade as I grow. I’m honored to work under Jeanie and learn from her expertise,” says Kathryn Compeau, Red Stag Fulfillment’s Recruiting Manager.

Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics, has high praise for all the women who received this year’s awards: “These women are just absolutely amazing in so many ways. They’ve re-tooled, re-innovated, and revamped how the world sees the supply chain and logistics industry. They’ve paved the way for future female supply chain leaders to become a part of an industry that matters. Because women in the supply chain matter. And, some of these women are young, which means they’re just getting started.”

The entire Red Stag Fulfillment team is beyond excited to have one of our own honored for her leadership and hard work.

“My accomplishments at RSF are shared with my team in HR and across all departments who believe that caring for our employees is the key to being able to care for our clients. I can’t state enough just how much my team and key people at Red Stag enabled me to even be recognized,” adds Kohl.
