In an effort to continue serving our current clients and enable the opportunity to bring about a new chapter of new growth with eCommerce brands looking to scale their businesses, Red Stag Fulfillment is thrilled to celebrate with our partners, the groundbreaking ceremony for the first 700,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Sweetwater, Tenn., on Wednesday, May 4th.
The event featured representatives from both state and local government, including Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Sweetwater Mayor Doyle Lowe, as well as leadership from Red Stag Fulfillment and parent company Mollenhour Gross. Red Stag Fulfillment CEO Dusty Holcomb thanked the Sweetwater community at large for being so welcoming and proactively engaged in the creation of this first building within the Sweetwater campus.
“At the end of the day, we are a people company. We are a company that is all about building something special, enabling our clients to grow, our team members to grow, our company to grow, and the communities we serve to grow and prosper. The opportunity to create a legacy and make an impact in communities like Sweetwater is just outstanding,” says Holcomb.
The flagship warehouse, one of six expected to round out the fulfillment campus, will open in stages over the coming months. Red Stag projects the first 350,000 sq. ft. of space to be operational by the end of 2022’s third quarter. In total, the 420-acre campus is expected to encompass a total of 4.5 million square feet of warehouse capacity to sustain future growth, while creating hundreds of new jobs over the next few years for the East Tennessee area.
While the final stages of construction are still in progress, Red Stag Fulfillment is excited to share this milestone with the Sweetwater community, local government, and Governor Lee. Wednesday’s groundbreaking celebration for the order fulfillment warehouse campus is a clear sign of Tennessee’s prominent role in national eCommerce growth and economic opportunity for businesses of all sizes.
“We all know that it’s not about steel and concrete and dirt. It really is about changing people’s lives. When we create an environment in a state that is as attractive as Tennessee is to the rest of the country, what we do is we provide an opportunity for our people’s lives to be changed. Because when there’s meaningful work that brings dignity and life-changing transformations, we change lives, and we create an opportunity for the future of our state,” says Governor Lee.
With this milestone event complete, Red Stag Fulfillment is already looking ahead to the next steps needed to make the Sweetwater campus fully functional: completing construction, sourcing materials, and staffing the first warehouse. The warehouse is on track to be open and operational by September 2022 and key leadership positions of General Manager and Human Resources Manager have recently been filled by Bill Savage and Randy Hatfield, respectively. Red Stag’s recruitment team will begin accepting applications for warehouse team member positions in July 2022, in order to have the Sweetwater Herd members trained and ready to accept packages into the new campus in September.
