Their sporting goods ecommerce company was growing rapidly.
But fulfillment was a major problem—

One problem? Their inventory was dense and heavy.
The 3PLs were struggling with the (literal) heavy lifting.
This was the moment Red Stag was born.
And since our very first client was our owners’ sporting goods company, we began building our operations to handle big, heavy, and bulky fulfillment from day 1.

Most automation is optimized for relatively smaller and lighter items. But that isn’t efficient for bigger and heavier items. We have optimized equipment, facilities, and processes for heavy and bulky items. Our specialized automations, processes, and highly trained team are optimized for the big stuff.

Shipping big, heavy, and/or bulky products is expensive. By aggregating volume from many clients, we have been able to negotiate steep discounts with major carriers on expensive zone-based surcharges.
Screwing up the big stuff is expensive. So we guarantee everything we do.
Fulfillment mistakes are painful for you, so they should be painful for your 3PL. That’s why we get it right or we make it right: if we mess up, we’ll reimburse your full costs, pay you $50 compensation, or both.

Red Stag’s big and heavy fulfillment FAQs
Can you handle products that are in my weight and size range?
Probably. We know that when it comes to shipping packages over 20 pounds (or even more so for parcel shipments over 40 lbs) your 3PL options are limited. The products other 3PLs won’t touch—because they’re too big or heavy—are where we shine. But there are limits, of course. For example, we won’t ship full-size refrigerators.
Since every fulfillment situation is different, the best way to determine if we’re a good fit for our brand is to talk with our sales team. They take a consultative, low-pressure approach to helping you find the right fulfillment partner.
What about AHS and oversize fees?
High dim-weight and heavy products can be subject to dreaded AHS and oversize fees, on top of the fact they’re already expensive to inbound and ship out to your customers. Because Red Stag ships so much big/heavy/bulky parcel volume, we’re able to work with national carriers to negotiate discounts on shipping these items.

Shipping my product is really expensive. Can Red Stag help?
We get it—shipping the big stuff can cost a lot. And it hasn’t gotten any cheaper over the last few years… but we’ve been doing this since 2012 for hundreds of clients. And we’ve learned a thing or two about how to get creative to lower your total cost of fulfillment.
Our team consults with clients on everything from packaging to nesting to inbound strategies and carrier strategy to deliver a reliable and cost-effective strategy for getting your big or heavy items to customers.
What are Red Stag Fulfillment’s fulfillment guarantees?
We have 4 guarantees: 1) All inventory is received and ready to ship within 2 business days, 2) ZERO inventory shrinkage, 3) 100% on-time shipping, and 4) 100% order accuracy.
If we ship a product late, we’ll pay you $50 directly. If we miss our receiving guarantee, we’ll pay you $50 per late delivery. If an order is inaccurate, we’ll pay you $50 and cover the shipping costs to fix the mistake. And if we ever lose an item, you’ll get full reimbursement of the wholesale cost of the product.
Where are Red Stag Fulfillment’s warehouses?
Red Stag Fulfillment has two warehouse hubs, one in Sweetwater, Tennessee (Knoxville) and one in Salt Lake City, Utah. We’ve found that two warehouses, one located central to each coast, is optimal for fastest shipping time while minimizing the amount of costly inventory balancing between warehouses. Warehouse placement is a complex issue, but we find that once we discuss this with clients and they experience the benefits they are happy with these two locations.
What is Red Stag Fulfillment’s pricing?
Pricing is custom to each client, as no two brands and fulfillment needs are alike. We strive to get the best rates whenever possible and are proud to have negotiated the best shipping discounts in the industry for big, bulky, and heavy packages in particular.
Will Red Stag Fulfillment integrate with my store?
